Despite our small size, Dunolly has a range of public artworks located throughout the town in some of our gardens and on our main street of Broadway. The artworks pay tribute to our Golden past whilst celebrating the here and now of our community.

WELCOME STRANGER MURAL
By Biin
As you travel into our town from Maryborough, you cannot miss the bright blue mural to the right of Broadway.
On the facade of the old Goldsearch building (originally the CBC Bank), talented artist Biin captured the infamous commemorative photograph of the John Deason, Riichard Oates and their families re-enacting the discovery of the largest alluvial gold nugget in the world.
Completed in April 2022, the eye-catching mural was sponsored by the Prospectors and Miners Assoc. of Victoria (PMAV).
COMMUNITY MOSAICS
By Deborah Halpern and Dunolly Community
The colourful, eye-catching mosaics created under instruction with celebrated artist Deborah Halpern, were developed from drawings made by local school children, and made into feature works that brighten the streets and public gardens around the town.
You can find the sculptures in the Rene Fox garden on Broadway, outside the Ministry of Fun (also on Broadway) and tucked away behind the main street in Gordon Gardens, near the bowling club and other recreational facilities. Below are a few examples for you to spot throughout the town.
POLE ART FOR THE PEOPLE
By cuzzsstudios
As you drive along the Dunolly-Maryborough Rd. heading to or from Maryborough, keep a lookout for some colourful artwork on electrical poles, courtesy of outdoor artist Cuzz.
His works include Waterfall, Prospector, Sunset, Grapes, Spiders and Sunflowers shown below. “I just do it for the people – they can see the art as they pass by my work and they can forget everything in that moment… puts a smile on their faces. It doesn’t have to be a Monet to make you smile. It’s Art for the People.” he explained.
Should you catch him creating more pole art, give him a friendly wave or gently toot your horn as Thanks for simply brightening up our day.
